On January 20th, 2010, I went to Shinkoji Ryokuchi Park. It’s a park in Machida in the city of Tokyo which has a lot of nature. It’s managed by Machida City Parks and Green Spaces Division.
We can feel nature even though we stay in Tokyo. Today, I will introduce Shinkoji Ryokuchi Park and a shrike I saw there.
The stairs towered to Shinkoji Ryokuchi Park
There was a quiet residential area in Tokyo. I found stairs headed towered to Shinkoji Ryokuchi Park.
Shinkoji Green Area
I went up the stairs, where I found a signboard at the top of the stairs. It said “Shinkoji Ryokuchi”. The park is managed by Machida City Parks and Green Spaces Division.
It’s managed as a park although it has left a lot of nature. I believe that everyone will be able to feel relaxed there.
Took a walk around Shinkoji Ryokuchi Park
I took a walk in the park. It was very sunny and warm at lunch time. However, I felt a little bit cold under the trees.
Although it felt good with the clear winter air in this day, It might also feel good on a warm day in spring. You should be able to see different beautiful sights when you visit in early spring.
I found a wild bird!
I could hear bird song, I looked in the direction of the bird song and I saw a small bird. It was a very cute bird. I searched for information on this bird for a few days after. I found out the bird is Shrike. The bird was in soft winter plumage. It was very cute. So, I felt warm although it was in Winter.
The bird might have heard the sound of the shutter of my camera. It gazed me for a few minutes. It was cute because while it gazed at me, it continuously wagged it’s tail. I met a wild bird for the first time in a while.
I wondered whether the bird was used to seeing people because, although it kept a distance it did not fly away at all.
The bird was coming more closer
It was moving away, however it came and stopped on a branch which was closer.
So, I could take good photos. The bird stayed there for a while and it seemed to be looking far away. The bird wagging it’s tail was very impressive.
It was a fantastic day!
It was getting close to sunset while I was gazing and taking photos of the bird since I started walking around this park about noon. It was getting cloudy from around noon but it was still sunny. It was a fantastic walk. It was refreshing.
Shinkoji Ryokuchi Park is not a famous place. That’s why there were few people. So, I leisurely enjoyed the nature of the park.
It was a really fantastic day.
